What information do we collect?
We collect information from you when you place an order for one of our products. When purchasing a product, you will be asked to enter your: name, e-mail address, mailing address, and credit card information.
What do we use your information for?
The information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:
- To process transactions
- To provide services, for example, access to CBU lectures
At the time of purchase, we collect your email address in order to send you information and updates pertaining to your purchase and occasional Childbirth U related news, updates, or product or service information. We will not use your email address for any purpose other than providing information relevant to Childbirth U. If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each e-mail. The same restrictions apply when you provide us your email address to enable access to the free lecture.
How do we protect your information?
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.
We use a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway provider’s database. The database is only accessible by those who are authorized with special access rights to such systems and who are required to keep the information confidential.
Data Collected to Manage Your Membership
At checkout, we will collect your name, email address, username, and password. This information is used to setup your account for our site. If you are redirected to an offsite payment gateway to complete your payment, we may store this information in a temporary session variable to setup your account when you return to our site.
At checkout, we may also collect your billing address and phone number. This information is used to confirm your credit card. The billing address and phone number are saved by our site to prepopulate the checkout form for future purchases and so we can get in touch with you if needed to discuss your order.
At checkout, we may also collect your credit card number, expiration date, and security code. This information is passed to our payment gateway to process your purchase. The last 4 digits of your credit card number and the expiration date are saved by our site to use for reference and to send you an email if your credit card will expire before the next recurring payment.
Your personal information is password-protected to prevent unauthorized access, and all passwords and credit card numbers are encrypted during transmission using SSL technology.
Nonetheless, no transmission method over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. For that reason, while we will strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
Your personal information will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any outside persons or organizations. The only exception would be when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential under a non-disclosure agreement.
